Jeffrey Allen Built Spirit Mind Around the Question His Engineering Career Couldn’t Answer

There is a specific kind of frustration that motivates much of Jeffrey Allen‘s work. It is the frustration of someone who has done everything right by the conventional measures available to them and still finds something missing. Jeffrey spent years in software engineering before turning toward a different set of questions entirely. What came out of that turn, eventually, is Spirit Mind, an online training program he built with his wife Hisami Allen through their company Spirit Mind Living, Inc.

The premise of the program is straightforward, even if it is not the kind of thing most software engineers spend their careers thinking about. In the framework the Allens have developed, people have two modes of guidance available to them: a problem-solving, planning, and often stress-producing mode they call the Material Mind, and a quieter, more intuitive mode they call the Spirit Mind. The training, offered at spiritmind.com, works from the idea that most people spend nearly all their time in the first mode and have gradually lost access to the second.

The Long Way Around

The path from software engineering to energy education was not a direct one. Jeffrey has described leaving a conventional career behind after years of searching for something more fitting. According to a profile published by Mindvalley, a teaching trip to Uganda in 2005 proved to be a pivotal experience. In the years that followed, he studied at Psychic Horizons Center, an established school for intuitive and spiritual development in Boulder, Colorado. According to his biographical materials, he completed clairvoyant training and a teacher’s certification there and later served on the organization’s board of directors.

Jeffrey has described spending more than two decades engaged in energy research and live workshop teaching before his work moved online. The collaboration that expanded his reach significantly was with Mindvalley, the personal development platform. By his own account, he met Mindvalley founder Vishen Lakhiani at a Mindvalley event in Thailand in 2014, and that connection led to his programs becoming part of the Mindvalley catalog.

Two courses grew from that partnership: Duality, which Jeffrey describes as drawing on his years of energy study and live teaching, and Unlocking Transcendence, a 60-day program he describes as focused on awareness and what he calls spiritual fitness. Spirit Mind Living, Inc. reports that through his online programs, Jeffrey has introduced more than one million people worldwide to his approach to energy awareness.

A New Program, a New Partnership

Spirit Mind is a different kind of project. Hisami Allen, who is from Japan and has taught what she describes as Spirit Mind awareness there for many years through her company Oneness Company, developed the program’s core framework from her own experience and study. According to Spirit Mind Living, Inc., she and Jeffrey began teaching together in live workshops in 2017 before designing the online version.

The Spirit Mind training launched publicly in January 2023, according to the company. Where Jeffrey’s Mindvalley programs are organized around what he describes as energy awareness tools and techniques, Spirit Mind is designed as your own guide experience, aimed at people who have some background in personal development and are looking for what the Allens describe as a shift in perspective rather than a new set of techniques. The program is built without AI-generated content, a distinction the company names explicitly on the program’s site.

Hisami Allen leads the central teaching within Spirit Mind, with Jeffrey contributing first-person accounts of his own experience with the practice. The structure reflects a deliberate decision to let the two teachers work from their separate backgrounds rather than folding them into a single shared voice.

What the Calendar Holds

The Spirit Mind program accepts new students through an invitation-based process. Jeffrey also produces Spirit Mind Living, a short-form podcast available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, with episodes running roughly three to seven minutes and covering his observations on energy, growth, and change. Jeffrey Allen was one of the favorite speakers at Mindvalley University 2026 in Tallinn this year, an annual gathering the Mindvalley platform holds for its global community.
