Like a lot of Americans, Vashaun Tyrell Davis spent the pandemic years watching his health unravel in small, daily increments. Gyms closed, routines dissolved, and the weight kept climbing. Davis says that by the time he took stock, he had gained 45 pounds, was dealing with persistent knee pain, and was regularly losing sleep. He describes that stretch as one of the lowest points of his adult life.
His response was deliberate. Davis joined Planet Fitness and rebuilt his routine around hypertrophy-based resistance training, a method centered on building muscle through progressive, controlled load, combined with consistent calorie monitoring. According to Davis, he lost nearly 50 pounds in roughly six months. The process did more than restore his health. It became the argument for everything he now asks clients to believe.
Davis runs V2FITNESS, a personal training practice built directly around that experience. The business offers one-on-one coaching and fully remote training, both delivered through the ForActive platform, a fitness business app that handles bookings, memberships, and session management in a single place. Clients who prefer in-person work can train with Davis directly; those working remotely access the same programming and coaching attention through the app.
The scope of what V2FITNESS covers is deliberately wide. Davis works with clients on weight loss, weight and muscle gain, bulking protocols, toning, speed and agility development, and flexibility training. For those with competitive goals, he also prepares bodybuilders for competition. Group bootcamp formats and partner training sessions round out the service menu for clients who prefer to train with someone alongside them rather than alone.
Nutrition is not treated as an add-on at V2FITNESS, according to Davis. He works dietary guidance directly into client programming, treating what happens in the kitchen as inseparable from what happens under a barbell or in a sprint drill. Clients who want a more comprehensive approach can build plans that account for both sides of the effort.
The philosophy Davis describes runs against the idea that fitness training requires the right starting body or the right athletic history. He puts a premium on being relatable, patient, and consistent, qualities he traces directly back to his own starting point. He did not come to training as a lifelong athlete. He came to it as someone who needed to solve a real problem, found a method that worked, and became convinced the same structured approach could work for others who have fallen out of step with their health.
According to Davis, the work is backed by credentials through the International Sports Sciences Association. He reports holding the ISSA Certified Personal Trainer designation, along with specialty certifications in strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, nutrition coaching, bodybuilding, and tactical conditioning. The corrective exercise background shapes how Davis approaches programming from the beginning, on the premise that many clients arrive with movement patterns and muscle imbalances accumulated over years of sedentary habits or inconsistent training, patterns that compound under load if they are not addressed early.
V2FITNESS can be reached through Davis’s Instagram at @v2fitness__, where he shares training content and responds to program inquiries. Session booking is handled through the ForActive platform.
